Oops, sorry. I thought you knew it was fixed.

Well it get me fomr A to B, and quickly emoticon. I am still convinced there si some coolant loss though, but am not 100% sure.

It works and drives, whcih is nice. I just hope there's not a leak somewhere now.

Fingers still crossed, but on the steering wheel this time, not on the bus emoticon

Hi all.Newbie here emoticon . Just got my first MG ZS but have had rovers for years. First was a 800 H/back then better looking 800 fastback then a 214(great car) then a Primera then my 620 SLI auto(best car I'v had but has to go) and now my MG ZS which is dead smart.I do all my own work so hopefully may be able to help people out with what I have learnt. Thought this wee story was great emoticon ,what anightmare though.Wish I was around at the time as I could have helped out as well.Good to see other members offering so much help. Would like to know how you bent a valve(s) by just removing the head...its a new one on me.Anyway glad to hear you got it all sorted.

Welcome MYCAR.

It was "fun". Still going strong though. I think when I had the head on the living room floor, I was turnign the camshafts for some reason when removing the cams etc. I had to really force the cam sprocket round as they were sticking. obviously, in retrospect, the "sticking" was probably the valves opening onto the floor, and me forcing them emoticon emoticon

I think thats why anyway emoticon

Thanks for the retrospective help though. in the end I am glad it all happened as I got to do lots of things like valve replacing etc, that I wold never have done otherwsie, and I like to learn new things. Still saved about 700 pounds by not going to a garage too emoticon
